The Quilters Angel location is in Highfields, a small country town north-west of Toowoomba on the Darling Downs in Queensland. Residents of Highfields enjoy the best of both worlds, living the country lifestyle but having easy access to the city, as Toowoomba is only a pleasant ten minute drive away.

Highfields boasts some of the best tourist attractions in Australia with world renowned businesses which all maintain the laid-back country feel of the town. One of these tourist attractions is the Village Green. Located in the Village Green Complex is the Quilters Angel, nestled amongst other businesses such as the multi-award winning Chocolate Cottage Cafe and Herbal Harmonies.

Marion Marshall had a long term dream to open a quilt shop and create a place where her customers could come and escape from there own realities, to relax and enjoy and be inspired. Realising that her own local area was the perfect location and that a quilt shop was missing in the mix of attractions on offer-both for the locals and the tourists, Marion set about turning her dream into reality and The Quilters Angel was born on the first of September 2004. Initially located in a pleasant area a little of the highway, fate stepped in soon after Marion hung out her shingle, when a shop became vacant at The Village Green (a rare event) and within two months The Quilters Angel had moved into its present location.

The Quilters Angel is more than just a shop, it is a feeling. Walk up the stairs(or enter via the ramp) and you can feel the excitement brewing as you servey all the goodies on display on the large covered verandah. Enter the front door and you are transported to another time. Marion says she will never tire of hearing the gasps of people as they open that door. The shop is a visual feast and it's immediate impact is such that it stops its visitors in their tracks. With it's darked polished timber floors and very high ceilings the interior is a old-world backdrop to a treasure-trove of content.

The focus of the business, of course, is fabrics and the crafts of patchwork, quilting and embroidery. Hundreds and Hundreds of bolts of fabric line the walls and overflow into the main body of the shop. You'll find old fashioned cabinets housing laces, braids and trimmings, racks of patterns and packaged kitsas well as an extensive array of haberdashery and tools of the trade that meet the basic needs of crafters.

It is not only craft-lovers who are catered for, Marion has filled every available gap with delicious giftware to delight and appeal to everyone who enters her door.
